Had cause to look at the mine plan for Moel Fferna this week, and following a thread on Adit Now got a little keen to colour it in!
If you fancy exploring somewhere really special with lots to see here’s a mine plan to get you going. It’s based on Dave Baines abandonment plan, with a few of the points of interest marked. As with all abandonment plans it’s not going to be 100% accurate (the lower floors in particular don’t seem to stack up)
The entrance pitch requires 30m of rope, anchored to a couple of railway tracks hammered into the ground and an anchor (or around a large rock) and a tree (sling needed). It can also be climbed with an 8m ladder.
