In my Level 2 notes there’s a page on an improvised technique that non-SRT leaders could use to ascend a short pitch. It’s great for short pitches (and really easy to switch from up to down) but it’s certainly nowhere near as efficient as SRT so I wouldn’t be ditching the SRT rig in a hurry!
