As a non SRT leader you may wish to lower yourself down the pitch. This way you know the rope will be set for you to climb the ladder on the way out, and you don’t have to stress about your second belaying you if you had to climb down the ladder. (Note: you’d normally have hung the ladder now, but we didn’t have one on the day!)
